Clinics in the himalayas

In October 2024, we proudly celebrated the opening of Bihi Mother’s Love Clinic and the re-opening of Serang Health Post after its successful renovation, now named Serang Compassionate Clinic.

The idea to build a Birthing Centre was a very deep and heartfelt wish of Nuptul Rinpoche to honor all mothers, having lost his own mother at 14 years old, when she was giving birth to his youngest brother. His own aunt also lost her life due to childbirth complications.

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of many individuals and generous support from the Merck Family Foundation and Human Care Education, the clinic was constructed despite challenging geographical situation and it officially opened to the community. For the first time, local villagers have direct access to professional healthcare and in critical moments, receive life-saving support for the mothers.

Another major milestone for providing essential healthcare to local community was the successful renovation of the local health post.

Until recently, reaching the nearest health post meant a full day hiking along steep mountain paths. In emergencies, this journey could become a life-threatening hurdle, with lives often lost to the lack of timely care.

For the first time, the people of Serang now have reliable, accessible healthcare right in their own valley.

The sustainability of both initiatives is solely dependent on donations. Should you feel connected to this cause, you are welcome to donate any amount. Together, we can save lives and help build a future where every person can receive safe and compassionate care in times of need.

Thank you!
